Scopus Online Sessions

In April and May 2008 the TrainingDesk features two sessions that focus on Scopus.

In April, we introduced a basic overview of Scopus and in May we are featuring the new Affiliation Identifier launching on Scopus.

The Scopus Affiliation Identifier allows you to find all the documents belonging to a specific organization quickly and easily. This used to be a notoriously difficult and time consuming task because an institution’s name is often spelled or recorded differently by individual sources; it may change its name, or have a name very similar to another institution. The Scopus Affiliation Identifier automatically identifies and groups an organization with all its research output.

Find your next research partner with Scopus TopCited and 2collab

New Topic Focused Session is now available on TrainingDesk

TopCited, (http://www.topcited.com/ ) a new service from Scopus, helps connect researchers with the most cited articles in their field and beyond. Combining TopCited features with 2collab opens up opportunities for researchers to establish new working relationships with peers around the world, build networks and keep up-to-date with new citations.
In this session you'll learn how you and your researchers can optimize these services and broaden research networks. In addition, this session will include an overview of Scirus Topic Pages, a new authoritative web based reference aggregator created and maintained by researchers.

In 45 minutes you will learn how to:

Consult with Scopus TopCited to view the most cited articles in your field
Find author information in Scopus
Bookmark an article using 2collab
Create a working group for your area of interest
Invite citing authors to join your working group on 2collab
Create citation awareness on Scopus TopCited and 2collab
